About Kaitlin "Carrots"

I am Kaitlin, or as Kate calls me Carrots. I am from the Midwest (Missouri and Kansas). I'm just a small town girl living in a lonely world...just kidding. I finished my two year internship at Honor Academy of The Ozarks on August 10, 2014. I know serve as volunteer staff at HAO as the Academic Supervisor, I work as an administrative assistant at another nonprofit, and on the weekends I serve with Nightlight Branson. I also work in my church by assisting the sr. high youth pastor and I serve on our worship team. I graduated from High School in 2012 in Ark City, Kansas but I currently live in Missouri rooming with one of my very best friends.

I was raised in church and I am Christian. I received Christ when I was five years old, however, I solidified my faith as my own when I joined HAO in 2012 and really formed a relationship with my Heavenly Father and didn't just skate around on the coat tails of my parent's beliefs.

I have been called to work with Sex Trafficking victims in the United States and I am very passionate about it. I have worked with Justice Ministries and Rise Up Ministries, and I currently work with Nightlight International, by serving in their Branson branch. I am slowly working my way towards a degree in social services so that I can open/work in a Safe House in the Midwest someday. I also have a desire to travel and spend some time working in the red light district in Thailand.

I love music, writing, reading, dogs, watching Supernatural, Gilmore Girls, drinking tea, day dreaming, going on adventures with my best friends, serving Jesus and playing with babies. I have an aspiration to get married and have foster children.

My favorite wastes of time include Tangled, Frozen, Spiderman, Captain America, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, Baby Daddy, Anne of Green Gables, and anything with Jimmy Stewart of Kevin Bacon in it. As far as music goes Relient K, Marianas Trench, The Almost, Ed Sheeran, Michael Hery & Justin Robinett, The Jonas Brothers and all Country Music. My favorite books include Turtle On A Fence Post, Lucas, The Road To Memphis, Hope Was Here, Tigerlily, Redeeming Love, The Atonement Child, Percy Jackson and The Olympians, Behind The Soiled Curtain, Lioness Arising, Honor's Reward, The Complex Infrastructure Known As The Female Mind, and Bruiser.

I am an introvert made up of extremes. I am never fine or just okay. I am either ecstatic and exuberant with joy, love, and awe of life or upset. I live on mountain summits and in the deep trenches of life and never on the plains. I have five close friends and that's all I want. Parties make me nervous and more then an hour of socializing with someone who isn't close to me drains me of all energy and ability to think rationally. I love people though, and have a heart for the broken. My favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 61:1-3 and Hosea is my favorite book of the Bible. I think that pretty much sums me up. I am Carrots through and through. You can follow me on twitter here.
